Our Story
SkyBound Drones began with a vision to provide drone services across various industries. We started our operations in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico, offering drone surveys for oil and gas and environmental companies in the Permian Basin. As our surveys grew increasingly complex, we recognized the importance of providing students of all ages with the opportunity to learn about drones and explore the potential career paths available upon completing high school or college. Since then, we have been offering educational programs for schools (elementary through high school) that teach mathematics, engineering, critical thinking, data collection, and creativity, all while being engaging and entertaining for children of all ages.

What We Do
At SkyBound Drones, we specialize in various areas, including cave and karst delineation within the Permian Basin and educational programs for schools. For cave and karst delineation, we conduct walking surveys with the support of drones equipped with thermal cameras. Our school programs are highly educational and tailored to each grade level, ensuring that every student receives the appropriate information as outlined in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

Meet the Team
Kaleb Henry, M.S.
Kaleb Henry is the founder and CEO of SkyBound Drones. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Geo sciences from Wayland Baptist University, followed by a master’s degree in Geo sciences with a focus in geophysics. Later that year, Kaleb began working for an environmental firm in Midland, Texas, where he provided various services, including drone surveying and cave and karst delineation. In 2021, Kaleb launched his own company, which eventually became SkyBound Drones . Since then, he has worked in the oil and gas industry while also teaching children the importance of mathematics, engineering, critical thinking, and creativity through the use of drones in educational programs.
Kelsey Collard, Pharm. D.
Dr. Kelsey Collard is the Co-founder and COO of SkyBound Drones. She earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Texas Tech University, followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Texas Tech University. After graduation, Dr. Collard worked as a retail pharmacist in Abilene, Texas, until 2024, when she decided to pursue her true passion: biology research related to drone surveys. Dr. Collard collaborates closely with Mr. Henry to monitor animal migration patterns and specializes in search and rescue operations using drones.
Kory Henry, M.Ed.
Kory Henry is the CFO of SkyBound Drones. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Texas Tech University, followed by a master’s degree in education from Nelson University. Kory and his wife, Belinda Henry, have owned and operated several businesses since 1990. At SkyBound Drones, Kory not only manages the financial and business development aspects of the company but also leads the curriculum development. He works closely with teachers, principals, and superintendents to ensure that the curriculum we provide to students is up-to-date, engaging, and exciting.
Benjamen Mares
Benjamen Mares is one of the lead instructors at SkyBound Drones . He earned his bachelor's degree in business and religious studies from Nelson University. Shortly afterward, Benjamen began working as an instructor for The Creature Teacher, focusing on animal education. He is a highly qualified instructor with a deep understanding of drones and their capabilities, providing children with a fun and engaging learning experience.
